The days are getting just a tiny bit shorter, the corn a little higher and the nights a little cooler, which can only mean one thing- it’s back to school season.
While many kids will be well prepared for the school year’s return with brand new backpacks filled with new pencils, notebooks, highlighters, calculators and whatever other learning tools they need, there are millions of other kids around the world who can only dream of lugging around that same pack. Some dream of just having the chance to go to school.
But don’t worry, at least one (sort of) politician is on the case-Kid President.
Kid President is teaming up with Pencils of Promise, an organization that works in Laos, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Ghana and has broken ground on over 300 pre and primary schools in remote and under served regions, along with Photofy, to raise funds and awareness for the 250 million children around the world that lack basic reading and writing skills. And starting today, anyone with a smart phone can help them change that. All you have to do is download the Photofy app here, then scroll to the Kid President package and download! Check out a few of the accessories you can dress up your new presidential photos with:
One hundred percent of the Photofy proceeds from the Kid President #BackToSchool photo filter purchases will go directly to educating students in the most remote areas of the world. This fundraising initiative is also part of Pencils of Promise’s larger activation for International Literacy Day on September 8.
So get off your computer (as much as we love you), download the app, make a few cool photos with Photofy, and help change a child’s future. Being a hero just got a little easier.
Oh, and when you do make those photos, make sure to tag @RYOTNews on Twitter and Instagram. We’ll make sure to reshare!
