Polar Bears in California Receive the Gift of Snow for Christmas

Three polar bears living at the San Diego Zoo in Southern California were given a 52,000-pound gift this holiday — snow!

According to The Independent, the frozen gift came from a large amount of public donations after the zoo posted an animal Christmas wishlist for the three bears.

The bears Kalluk, Tatiquq, and Chinook took to the snow like ducks to water.

Zoo officials were surprised by the natural behaviors the bears exhibited as they foraged through the snow for hidden toys and treats.

It doesn’t take a scientist to appreciate the images captured on Christmas morning — just imagine how happier these bears would be if they had real snow in nature.
