When it comes to excessive cell phone use, we’ve pretty much heard it all &mdsah; we’ve never even really heeded these warnings or reprimands.
But what if I told you that by not replying to that text, you would actually ensure that someone, somewhere in the world has safe and clean water to drink?
UNICEF announced that they have created the UNICEF Tap Project, an “initiative that asks Americans to unlock clean, safe water for children around the world.”
And here’s where you come in.
For every five minutes that you go without your phone, you can help secure one day’s worth of water for children and their families that do not have access to clean and safe water.
The United Nations reports that more than 783 million people in the world do not have access to clean water.
This initiative will not only provide us with the essential detox period from our social networks, but will also save some lives.
It’s time put your phone down and start doing some good for children in need.
